This course focuses on the care of adult patients with medical and/or surgical health alterations. This course expands application of the nursing process in meeting the needs of the patients with complex health problems. Emphasis is placed on the care of patients with alterations in selected body functions. Concepts of health promotion, health education, evidenced base practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration will be integrated throughout the course. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe care to patients and selected groups in a variety of setting
